Connor Adams was born in Barrhead, Alberta. Growing up between his hometown of Whitecourt and Mayerthorpe Alberta, he was exposed to rodeo and western culture at a very early age.

 He learned to play guitar and write songs at 13 taking after early influences such as Tom Petty and Waylon Jennings at 16 he started playing more live shows including the local music festival “Party in the Park” where he had the opportunity to open for acts including George Canyon, The Trews and Dan Davidson.

Around the same time he began riding saddle broncs at local practice pens, leading him back to the rodeo world, which brought his music to the University of Saskatoon Rodeo Cabaret for two consecutive years.

In 2018 Connor attended Lakeland college for Western Cow horses and Feedlot Management. Riding broncs on Wednesday's and playing music at the local bar on Thursday. It was during that winter Connor met Don Kinahan from Coaldale. Over kitchen tables and card games they began playing live together, discovering their similar love for influences like Marty Robbins, Ian Tyson, and Don Edwards. In the fall of 2019 Connor opened for the Hunter Brothers, ending up being his last solo performance before the COVID pandemic.

Working odd jobs as a Ranch hand, laborer and horse trainer, it wasn’t until the summer of 2020 that Don and Connor reunited for a jam session in the Cypress Hills. Rediscovering their chemistry as musicians, that winter the established their acoustic duo “West of the Fourth”. Named for the place that taught them so much and are proud to call home.
